Lunar Eclipse

Last night around about 10:00 pm nearly the whole of Waihola were out on their doorsteps looking at the lunar eclipse. The lunar eclipse happens about every 7 years. When this happens the moon turns cherry red. The Ancient Chinese thought that when the moon went red, a dragon was trying to eat the moon so they shot cannons at it. The Ancient Japanese thought that the red moon was a poison and they covered all their wells to prevent them from getting an illness. When it came to the morning everyone at school was talking about the lunar eclipse and how happy they were at being able to see it. Some people fell asleep before it happened and were a bit disappointed. But all in all it was a great night.
